An Indicator
On Monday, January 27th, I was invited to the Dave Ross Show. At 50,000 watts, Newsradio 710 KIRO covers most of Western Washington including parts of Oregon and British Columbia. An Entercom-owned radio station, 710 KIRO is Seattle's most listened-to radio station for more than ten years running. (Source: Arbitron Persons 12+, 4-book average). With our network satellite facility and Internet audio streaming capability, 710 KIRO is heard 'round the world!
As we began the contest interview at 10 am, I think Mr. Ross was not convinced that health care was an issue the public was interested in. I suspect he worried he could have had an hour of dead air.
Well, when we went to the first commercial break, he said we were going to break and gave the call numbers for listeners to call in. Then he looked at the phone bank, and said, You cant. All the lines are full, but keep trying anyway. All 8-10 lines remained lit for the entire hour. No one dropped off the phone line. They were immediately full again after the callers finished their comments.
All the callers were men and all had thoughtful ideas. One caller even said, This is more important than Iraq.
When we concluded, Mr. Ross said, Well, I am now convinced health care is high priority for the American public based on the phone responses today.
Which is why your voices need to be heard. Send your ideas today!
