Executive Summary The health care system in the United States is at a crisis level and changes need to be made immediately. This country has the resources to provide high quality health care at affordable prices; however, Americans have to stop talking about it and start actively seeking solutions to the problems that exist. The health care issue must be broken down into smaller segments to avoid being overwhelmed. Issues such as funding, patient care, and medical insurance need to be addressed as individual topics rather than grouping them together. We must harness the power of our existing government agencies to help keep the costs to the medical consumers and providers of care at an affordable level. Insurance must be regulated to allow patients the right to choose their own care providers. Universities need to streamline their health care programs to prevent long waiting lists and adapt to the schedules of working adults. Care providers such as nurses and therapists have to be given the authority to use their skills if an emergency situation arises. Most importantly, doctors and care providers must improve their communication with one another to make sure that the patient is receiving the best treatment possible. The time is now. Let's get going! |
