The American Free-Market Healthcare Plan
A Comprehensive Healthcare System

The Problem

This proposal looks at the heavy price all Americans are now paying for asking the government to resolve some inequities that arose in our medical care system during the past century. The third-party payer system and government-sponsored medical welfare programs have ineffective spending processes and have fostered entitlement attitudes among their recipients. The unintended, yet predictable and devastating results are -- inequities now exist on a much larger scale; prices are skyrocketing out of control; and the quality in healthcare is declining.

The Solution

The solution to America's "healthcare crisis" will be realized through the implementation of the programs created in The American Free-Market Healthcare Plan (AFHP).

The AFHP creates a new model in healthcare focusing on health within a voluntary free-market system.

The underlying concept of the AFHP programs is that individuals utilize the most effective spending process for obtaining and paying for their own healthcare throughout their lifetime. These incentives ultimately lower the nation's total healthcare costs; lower individual healthcare costs; and improve the quality of healthcare for all Americans.

The AFHP programs 1) enable individuals to accumulate healthcare dollars more quickly with tax-free Healthcare Savings Accounts (HSA) to pay smaller more routine healthcare expenses and 2) provide financial security to individuals, regardless of their age or health history, with health insurance products that are designed to protect their assets from expensive healthcare. The Charitable Healthcare Contribution Fund Program (CHCF) provides financial security and healthcare spending dollars for the less fortunate. Each recipient is provided a Major Medical Insurance policy, and if needed, a small charitable fund placed in a tax-free Healthcare Savings Account for their use in paying more routine health related expenses.

The Plan discusses the laws and regulatory reforms that are essential for establishing a flourishing free-market healthcare system and for allowing private ingenuity to bring success and prosperity to all Americans who participate in the process.
